Sermons by Ron Ricley (Page 19)
Messenger of the Covenant
The Laws of God are not only “shall nots”. They are also Divine proclamations about what God will do. The Book of Genesis contains revelation all the way to the end of time. If we understand the prophesies that God made in the Books of the Law, we’ll understand the plan He has for the church in this hour.
Resignation
As children of God, we never, ever have to resign ourselves to defeat. We have an anchor in Christ Jesus that we can use to stop the slide into resignation as His Word gets us back on course.
The Value of the Laver
Before the priests went into the Holy Place, they had to stop at the laver and wash. It had no dimensions because the laver is a picture of the Word of God. It was made from the looking glasses of the women, covered with water. God takes out of our hands the mirrors we examine ourselves by, and He helps us examine ourselves by what He says and not the knowledge of good…
Sons of Belial
Sons of Belial were part of the congregation, trusted leaders with a preponderance to move away from the true doctrine of God, and the ability to take others with them. These sons do things according to their flesh, fighting against the authority of God by doing the things of God in their own way, refusing to bow to Kingdom of God. Scripture gives us several examples of…
An Epistle in Our Heart
When the truth is written in us, it’s not only in our life, but in the lives of the people we encounter who will read that epistle. Paul loved the people in Corinth into important decisions. Led them on a path at the end of which was a righteous God. The way through to victory is not to find out what’s sin and not do it – it’s about the blood, confession and repentance -…
The Robbery of Fleshly Arguments
The carnal mind is enmity against God. After the Sermon on the Mount there were two groups of people. There were those who humbled down, having received the baptism of John, and who knew that all Jesus had said was right. The Pharisees and lawyers argued against God’s Word and rejected Him and the blessings that faith would have brought to them. This sermon challenges us…
Binding the Strong Man (Part 2)
The tool that Jesus used to bind the strong man is the same one we’re to use today – the Word of God. Lies of the strong man bind us up, The truth breaks the power of the strong man and sets us free. The strong man in us could be anger, fear, addiction; whatever it is, we can pray about it. God knows how to get us to the place where the Word stops the strong man. He that…
Binding the Strong Man (Part 1)
Pastor Ricley is asked to explain what it means in Matthew and Mark to “bind the strong man”. He explains the meaning of those Scriptures by talking about how Jesus undermined the strong man in His day, how the church needs to bind the strong man today and how we each make choices about who the strong man is in our homes.
An Honest Judge
In this study, Pastor Ricley teaches on Psalms 11-15 and then he’s asked to explain 1 John 5:14-21. These verses all work together to establish that it’s only God who knows a man’s heart and He will always do what is right. We don’t need to understand, we just need to rest in His will in any given situation.
Truth About Condemnation
If we sin, we feel condemnation. The fruit of the knowledge of good and evil makes us want to run and hide from God. In truth, condemnation was God-given to guide us – to repentance, to prayer, to comfort, to peace and to motivate us to get it right the next time. God has given us everything we need to empower us to walk uprightly before Him.
